    This course introduces the practices and principles of interpersonal communication in both dyadic and group settings. Emphasis is on the communication process; issues addressed include perception, listening, self-disclosure, speech apprehension, ethics, nonverbal communication, conflict, power, and dysfunctional communication. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, apply basic principles of group discussion, and manage conflict in interpersonal communication situations.

  • Course Description: 

    This course provides a general overview of basic coaching principles, sports first aid, player relationships, team building, and preparing the player's mental approach to performance. This course is delivered entirely online. 
    Course Objectives:  
    • Develop the capacities and qualities of coaching and working with athletes 
    •  Teach skills and characteristics that make a champion-such as high self-esteem, courage, fortitude, determination, perseverance, tenacity, self-awareness, and integrity

This course teaches the logistics behind the presentation.  Key topics discussed included marketing, scheduling, and how to adopt a presentation to different demographics and time frames.

The course concentrates on practical experience in developing speaking and listening abilities to enable the student to communicate orally in clear, coherent language appropriate to the purpose, occasion, and audience. The techniques taught in this course will make any presentation more dynamic, fire up any team, and give anyone the confidence to overcome their fear of public speaking.
